Thanks for posting this, Wabbit...it's a real eyeopener for me.

As I've said before, my last appreciable time in a Battlefield game was DC, which was much more run & gun than later iterations. It's been a real challenge to make myself think like a soldier again. Situational awareness, tactical movement, and squad work are so much more important now than they were then.

BF4 is slower paced than BF3. Being more deliberate in your actions in BF4 will usually be a better decision than a run and gun Quake style of play.

The run and gun thing is I think what I am having the toughest time with. I need to slow down and treat it like more of a life situation than just running and finding something to shoot.

To that end, the more you stay alive the more targets you will find to shoot. It's a little counter intuitive that slowing down your movement and being deliberate in your actions will actually increase your kills/score. Consider all the wasted time you spend on the deploy screen...
