So I had a chance to drive one in Atlanta this past Friday:

It was mind-blowing. Now granted, I don't currently drive a luxury supercar (currently a 2013 Camry Hybrid). But the Model S was just amazing.

The drivetrain was silent but stunning. I had a chance to mash the pedal (something the Tesla rep encouraged haha) and before I knew it we had silently pulled out onto a busy road doing 50mph. The 17" touch panel on the console, combined with dash display, was amazing but also well though out. The Tesla rep demo'd adjustment settings such as low/high regen, cushy/sport steering, etc.

Only a few things kept me from putting down a deposit on one that day:
1) I just got the Camry Hybrid and it would be wasteful to replace it so soon.
2) My daughter is 2 and my son will be born this summer. Not sure how I'd handle them taking a Sharpie to such a fine leather interior (or some other kid-type accidental damage haha)
3) Never owned a luxury car before. I'm more of a practical kinda guy when it comes to cars.

In all - the Model S really shows me what the future of automobiles is going to be. With the continuing advancements in batteries and faster charging I feel confident electric vehicles are here to stay. And when they look/drive/perform like the Model S I'm happy they are Smile

When you put them both together, you're just asking for a sunburn.
