Looks like it'll be out soon. I noticed there is a new game mode call Chainlink that I think looks very interesting. To capitalize on the new hotness I think we should run a 24/7 Chainlink server when the DLC comes out. That'll increase our waning popularity.

I really hope this expansion brings some new "classic" maps to the table. I find most of the maps in BF4 to be exceptionally mediocre. I mean, where's our new Karkand? Caspian Border?

Furthermore, here's what sucks about the existing maps:

Siege - roof campers
Parcel - attack boats
Lockers - FUCK YOU snowblind. Hate getting killed by enemies that I can't see.
Flood Zone - because swimming is fun in an FPS right? attack boats.
Golmud - lacks cover and looks boring
Hainan - attack boats, attack jet without reliable AA
Lancang Dam - attack boats, dirty water
Dish - asymmetric out of bounds area gives advantage to one team
Zavod - cool
Metro - cool (fuck you lockers)
Anal Strike - attack boats

You're talking about rush mode, right?

I think initially, running Chainlink will help us increase popularity. I could see moving towards a mix of Chainlink and Conquest once the initial rush of omg-new-dlc rubs off.

Also worth considering are all the rebalanced Rush maps.

It's inbound for tomorrow. We've got most of the maplist updated but are missing the new Chainlink game mode. Hopefully it will but out sometime tomorrow.

To that end...I think we're gonna give Chainlink a try. Brace yourselves, this is basically Domination - fast cap times, smaller sized maps, infantry only.

Now we're just gonna try it. My hope is that it'll be the new hotness and help keep the server populated.

Never fear though! We will not stick to just the 4 Chainlink maps for the long run. With new maps we'll definitely take a look at conquest maps and of course the rebalanced Rush maps.

I just had a thought...we could potentially try all the new Dragon's Teeth maps and Gamemodes in one maplist. Simply hop between gamemodes as we cycle through the maps - what do you think?

Server has DT maps up running in a Chainlink, CTF, and Rush config.

Zed, I foresee that we'll have a populated server when you hop on in the evenings. Given that, we'll switch the maplist back to our current Rush maplist so you can play with us. This goes for all those without premium - just let us know and we'll switch the maplist over so you can play on the server.

This will give us an excuse to try the new rebalanced Rush gameplay!

Ive been taking a break from BF4. Aswel as a few other things I found it became a frustrating spawn screen simulator. Flightsim, KSP and Minecraft to the rescue!!

Ill give it another go once this new DLC gets released.

So I think we've all had a chance to be decimated with CTF, Rush, and Chainlink. We've added Conquest maps to the high population map list. We're retaining CTF, Rush, and Chainlink in this high population maplist as they seem to attract players easily enough.

To clarify, we are running 2 maplists based on player population. For a player count of 0-29 we are running CTF, Rush, and Chainlink only using the stock ticket count. At 30 players and more we are adding Conquest large maps to this list and doubling the ticket count on the CTF, Rush, and Chainlink maps. Conquest large maps should be running the standard 800 tickets.

Unless there are any strong, reasonable and thoughtful objections, I'm going to remove Sunken Dragon from the map rotation. I just feel like the map is too unbalanced in any game mode. The West side of the map has amazing cover, making it easy to get to the majority of the objectives. Meanwhile, the East side ain't got shit. They have less objectives and very little cover to get to the rest of the map.

The other three maps, Pearl Market, Propaganda, and Lumphini Garden are all great on most any game mode.

I know several of us have expressed that Chainlink seems broken. What I do link about Chainlink is how short the rounds are. I'm inclined to leave a couple of these maps in the rotation to break up the different modes. What do you all think?

Current maplist:

Conquest Large - Pearl Market
CTF - Propaganda
Rush - Lumphini
Conquest Large - Zavod 311
Obliteration - Pearl Market
Chain Link - Propaganda
Conquest Large - Lumphini
CTF - Pearl Market
Rush - Propaganda
Conquest Large - Caspian Border
Obliteration - Lumphini
Chain Link - Pearl Market
Conquest Large - Propaganda
CTF - Lumphini
Rush - Pearl Market
Conquest Large - Shanghai
Obliteration - Propaganda
Chain Link - Lumphini

Yeah, I agree for the most part. But I'm a whore..it's the new hotness so i think it may attract people, so I want to whore it out to keep the population up. If popularity decrease it will be eliminated.

I also like the quick Chainlink rounds to break up the serious games. Chainlink seems to go by so fast that you can just screw around and have fun for 10min then get back to it with a new map. At least that is my thinking.
